TEACHERS\' DAY CELEBRATION AT INDIAN CENTRAL SCHOOL

The Noblest Vocation-Affecting Eternity

Indian Central School celebrated Teachers Day on 10th October 2010 venerating the
inspiration passed over to billions by the Teaching community. A teacher is a compass
that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge, and wisdom in the pupils. The
day began with an assembly presented by the Senior Wing showcasing a medley of
programmes guaranteed to entertain all. It was received with non-stop applause .The
Principal Mrs.Shantha Maria James appreciated the students for organizing a memorable
show catering to the minute details impeccably and delved nostalgically on her days as
a student. The Head-Girl and The Head-Boy spoke on the greatness of a teacher and
expressed their gratitude to their teachers who inspired and led them throughout. After
the assembly, the senior students took over their role as teachers for the day. Dressed
in formal outfits, they rose to the occasion and shared the thrills and travails of the
profession. They realized that an understanding heart is everything in a teacher, and
cannot be esteemed highly enough. One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant
teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feeling. The curriculum is
necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the
soul of the child.
The Lower Primary Wing also organized a special assembly on 24th September for
Teachers. The tiny tots gave speeches and sang melodious songs, eulogizing their
teachers. The wing supervisor addressed the students and teachers giving them an insight
into the significance of the day and the role played by teachers in the society. The event
was celebrated with great zeal and zest.
